Poems Related To Alex Supertramp Life

As stated in the poem to the left:

       The Stream of Life
"Life... the essence of living
To breathe, to nourish, to create,
To exist on a common plan
And known  no difference.
What if the world was this simple?
Thet the greatest life achievement.
The richest reward one could give
Was to reap and bestow love.
The water falls from the skies,
Nourishes the land, the living growth,
We shelter from its harshness,
And sweeten our lips with delight.
We taste of love in the same manner
Why do we not dance to the tune so simple
And seek for nothing else?"

This is one of the poems I think Alex Supertramp would like. I think this poem means that why be bother with the hard times in life when life comes so easy. Also, how many things in the world are to bring people down.

One of the reasons I believe he would like it is because it deals with nature. Alex loved the nature. He survives in the wildness. In this poem it shows how the author thinks that life is simple without material things. Alex also believe that  there is no need of material things while living in nature's wilderness.

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.
Pablo Neruda

I feel as though this would have been a poem that Chris McCandless would have collected while he was still living with his parents. The reason why because it could also be a reason for him leaving them and not wanting anything to do with his family. Well this poem means that if a person in your life does not want anything to deal with you than you should move on with life and still beable to love them if they are not in your life anymore.

Chris did not like how his parents lived. They lived for material things and believe that Chris receieve new things for graduating. Chris did not and he got angry over such things and left his family but they would not forget him. This poem reminds of when I wanted to leave my family and try to live on my own. But I did not leave because I could not survive by myself. I do not have the courage to.
